Wow, they changed the blog posting tool since I last posted anything. It hasn't been that long, has it??
Well, in any case, we now our connected in our new home; internet, phone, new alarm and everything. Never mind that the alarm is a little flaky (good story there ... I'll get to it) at least we have it. Still waiting on the yard, but Joe's gardener friend in Chilliwack says to wait until late August anyway for doing anything in the yard. Blinds should arrive in two weeks, but they're at least ordered. Thank goodness it's been a lot cooler the past few days; 35 Celsius is a leetle too warm for me, especially with nothing to shut the sun out of the house! And the hard-baked mud outside the house radiates the heat back at us, which doesn't help. Oh well!
To Tina (and anyone else with young kids who may be reading this): I found a great new idea for Xmas gifts; I bought some fabric paint at Michael's and Kaitlyn is going to decorate a t-shirt for her cousin Danielle's birthday. They have some cheap t-shirts for about $5, in varieties of colours. They also carry fairly inexpensive sweatshirts, I think. They also have canvas tote bags so I got a couple of those; figured the Grandmas would love some of those. Only problem is I'm not sure if the paint is non-toxic. I'm fairly sure it is, but not 100% sure. For Kaitlyn it's not a big deal; she is fairly clean when she does this type of craft but for the younger ones ... hmmm. Anyway, we did one as a test, and it was a lot of fun. We tried using brushes to paint the shirts, but that was a failure, I recommend just squeezing the bottles straight onto the shirts. I also bought a couple of stencils and that worked like a charm :-) Just wanted to pass it on; I had a lot of fun with it too! Didn't try it with Andra, though.
Speaking of Andra, she's crawling like a little speed-demon, all over the place! She started about a day after our big move, so her timing was good. It's kind of weird having her mobile because she has been so "babyish" and kind of laid back about stuff like mobility until now. Such a change from Kaitlyn! And other babies I could name :-)
